Owner: Daniel Webster Council of Boy Scouts of America
This project, Winner of the 2003 Associated Builders and Contractors Award of Excellence, involved the abatement and demolition of the camp’s existing trading post building, and replacing it with a new 21,000 SF foot dining hall and support facilities.
Design challenges included creating cost-effective, low-maintenance HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. Future expansion was also a consideration in the design of this facility. Construction challenges included ledge, high groundwater, severe winter conditions, and strict budget constraints.
The end result gave the Daniel Webster Council a beautiful state-of-the-art facility large enough to feed all campers and staff at one time. The project was delivered on-time and met the budget set forth by the Owner.
