Jewett Celebrates Women in Construction Week

March 8th, 2019 by Kat Howland

Every year for one week in March the construction industry comes together to celebrate Women in Construction Week. The National Association of Women in Construction’s (NAWIC) event highlights women as a visible component of the construction industry. NAWIC’s mission is to enhance the success of women in the construction industry and the week of recognition is also a time for the industry as a whole to raise awareness of the opportunities available for women in construction.

Women make up 13.5% of Jewett Construction’s total workforce; higher than the national average of 9.9%. In fact, Jewett Construction saw a total increase of 66.7% in their female workforce from 2018 to 2019. Women hold positions in every part of our business, including executive leadership, accounting, and pre-construction. We’re excited to showcase some of the women who make Jewett great. Check out our social media all week to learn a bit more about the women who work for Jewett Construction.
